KINGSTON, Jamaica — Corporals Kirk Frazer and Rhamone Scott, two of the three policemen who were involved in last month’s shooting incident in Chedwin Park, St Catherine are to be charged with a total nine offences. They are to be charged today following an investigation by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and a ruling by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Each officer will be jointly charged with seven offences while Scott will be charged separately with two other offences.

Both are charged with the murder of Sheldon Daley, shooting with intent of two police officers, illegal possession of two firearms, illegal possession of their respective ammunitions, and the offence of manslaughter of Kevron Burrell arising from the motor vehicle collision at Brunswick Avenue/Job Lane.

Scott is further charged with illegal possession of another firearm and illegal possession of ammunition for that firearm.
Both officers are expected to appear before the Circuit Court Division of the Supreme Court on Monday, May 20.
